Common problems of fiber laser cutting machine cutting stainless steel

2020-02-06

In the sheet metal processing industry, fiber laser cutting machines have been widely used. When using fiber laser cutting machines to cut stainless steel and other metals, the laser beam irradiates the metal surface, melts it, and blows away the molten metal liquid by gas. So as to achieve the purpose of cutting. For stainless steel products, laser cutting stainless steel is a fast and effective processing method. However, when the fiber laser cutting machine cuts stainless steel, there will be some problems in the length of time, which will affect the cutting quality most. In fact, these problems are well solved. During the processing, if the process parameters of the laser cutting machine are strictly controlled, the processing quality of stainless steel workpieces can be well guaranteed.

If there are small burrs in the shape of droplets during processing, I must first find out the reason for this, usually the main reason is that the focus is too low or the feed rate is too high. Then, we need to make corresponding adjustments to raise the focus or reduce the feed rate. If irregular filiform burrs appear on both sides of the cut during processing, the surface of the stainless steel sheet will become discolored. There are usually four main reasons: 1. The feed rate is too low, 2. The focus is too high, 3. The air pressure is too low; 4. The material is too hot. Then, we need to make corresponding adjustments: 1. Increase the feed rate, 2. Reduce the focus, 3. Increase the air pressure, 4. Cool the material. If there are irregular burrs on one side of the edge of the cut during processing, there are usually four main reasons, 1. the nozzle is not centered, 2. the focus is too high, 3. the air pressure is too low, and 4. the speed is too low. Then we need to make corresponding adjustments: 1. the nozzle is centered, 2. the focus is lowered, 3. the air pressure is increased, and 4. the speed is increased. If the cut stainless steel material is discharged from the top during processing, there are usually three main reasons, 1. the power is too low, 2. the feed rate is too large, and 3. the air pressure is too high. Then, we need to press the stop button immediately to prevent the slag from splashing onto the focusing lens of the cutting machine, and we need to increase the power, reduce the feed rate, and reduce the air pressure. In cutting stainless steel, we also encounter other problems, such as the yellowing of the cutting edge. The main reason may be that the nitrogen used by the cutting machine is not pure and contains oxygen impurities. Then, we need to change the gas and use good quality and high purity nitrogen.
